The most eagerly awaited episode of Doctor Who since records began is written by Neil Gaiman and stars Suranne Jones as the eponymous wife. The doctor has more than martial woe on his mind, however: the TARDIS is beginning to shut down. MAD MEN Set in the heady world of advertising during 1960s New York, Mad Men is a sleek and stylish drama from the writer and executive producer of The Sopranos. The first episode of season four finds the ex-staff of Stirling Cooper struggling with life as a brand new agency, while Don and Betty continue to feud. NEW TRICKS An episode from series eight of the show about the team of retired police officers who reinvestigate unsolved crimes under the leadership of Detective Superintendent Sandra Pullman (Amanda Redman). THE NIGHT WATCH This exemplary adaptation of Sarah Waters' acclaimed novel follows the fortunes of four people during the Blitz, the relationships they form and the shattering secrets that return to haunt them. SILK Acclaimed BBC drama about a set of barristers and what they go through to attain the rank of Queen’s Counsel, or 'take silk' - in particular the rivalry between Martha (Maxine Peake) and Clive (Rupert Penry Jones). SHAMELESS USA The UK show gets a Stateside makeover, and in this first episode Fiona’s purse is stolen, but a handsome stranger named Steve helps her. Lip has suspicions about Ian's sexuality, and decides he should take him to Karen Jackson to confirm his suspicions. BEING HUMAN USA Debut episode of the US version of Being Human finds vampire Aidan and werewolf Josh moving into a new apartment only to discover that it is haunted by Sally. Together, they discover that being human isn't as easy as it seems. |
