Once check in opens, 24 hours before your flight, you can choose your seat online for free*. However, if you want to select specific seats before then, you will be able to do so from 336 days before your flight, for a fee from £25/$40^.

Stretch out with no seats directly in front of you. These are offered on a first come first serve basis, subject to availability, and we can only offer them to people over the age of 16. Flying Club Gold members can select Exit Row seats free of charge. If passengers assign an exit row seat who are under 16 years old, an alternative seat will be allocated at check in.
You can buy an exit row seat from GBP35/USD60.
Extra Leg Room seats offer up to 3 inches of additional legroom than that of our standard Economy seat. These are also offered on a first come first serve basis, subject to availability. Flying Club Gold members can select Extra Legroom seats free of charge.

Seat Plus purchased on Virgin Atlantic flights offers an enhanced travel experience in the Economy Cabin. The Seat Plus option will allow you to have an extra seat(s) to increase your on-board space and reserve a whole seat section for you or your travelling party. Seat Plus is available by calling our Contact Centre on 0344 209 7777 up to 72 hours before you travel. Subject to availability.
When booking through a Virgin Atlantic Contact Centre, customers can hold the fare and flight availability for up to 3 days. For bookings held beyond 24 hours, Virgin Atlantic charges a Fare Locker fee, which depends on your location. If you are in the UK the fee is GBP10, USD16 in the US. Additionally, when you purchase a ticket from us one week or more prior to a flight's scheduled departure date. we allow you 24 hours to cancel your ticket without penalty.
Virgin Atlantic issues e-tickets for most bookings. If you wish to have a paper ticket sent when an e-ticket can be issued you will be charged a fee depending on your location. If you are in the UK the fee is GBP25, USD50 in the US, AED100 in Dubai. Contact Us for more on paper ticket fees.
You may cancel your booking without penalty within 24 hours of making your reservation. Please call the contact centre to cancel your booking.
If you have a flexible or semi-flexible ticket you can change the date outside of this timeframe. Fees vary so you should contact your travel agent or our contact centre for specific information.
If you are due to travel within 7 days of making your booking, you may incur a date change fee.
For flights departing from the UK, Virgin Atlantic applies a 1.5% fee to account for the cost charged to the airline when you pay by credit card. The fee is refundable on tickets that permit a refund of the fare.
Charges also apply for upgrades, which vary in price per cabin and can fluctuate at any time, depending on market conditions:

The Guest List package is only available when travelling between London Gatwick, London Heathrow, Boston, New York (Newark and JFK), San Francisco and Washington.
Please note: If you initially book a package for e.g. two people for two car rides costing £500, and then you are unable to travel together, further costs will be payable if you need to split your journey, and both still require the Guest List.
