You’ll find our check in desks in Terminal 2B, Gate B, from counters 45 to 51 along with four self service check in kiosks.
Please note: All passengers must have a copy of their e-ticket to gain access to the terminal building, or by displaying a soft copy on a laptop, iPhone, tablet or smartphone.
Arrivals
Collect your luggage from carousels 1-4 in terminal 2B.
Home printed boarding passes
All passengers travelling on a home printed boarding pass must go to the Virgin Atlantic check in to have their boarding pass validated before they make their way to Airport Security.
Flights on our partner airlines
The check in process for airlines can vary, so if you’re flying with one of our partners we recommend you check their website for more information.
When flying with a partner airline we recommend you check in three hours before your scheduled departure to avoid losing your reservation.
When to arrive for your flight
We recommend you get to the airport with plenty of time to spare – it’s a good way to avoid last-minute stress! As a rule of thumb:
- Virgin Atlantic flights: arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight is due to leave.
- Partner airline flights: we recommend you check in three hours before your scheduled departure.
Check in options
You can check in for your flight and pick up your boarding pass using any one of the following options.
Baggage information
Not sure how much to bring for your flight, or want details on restrictions? Check our Baggage information pages for full details.
Connecting flights
Your baggage will usually be through checked (automatically transferred) between your flights, with the following exception, where you’ll need to collect and check in your baggage as you transfer:
Baggage will not be through checked between British Midland (BD) and British Airways (BA) flights when the passenger holds separate tickets for each flight.
Missing baggage
If your baggage is missing after your flight to Mumbai airport, be sure to let our staff know before you leave the terminal. There’s more information on the process we follow on our missing baggage page.
If your baggage has been missing for more than 21 days, we consider it lost – after which you can make a claim. You can find out more about this on our Claim for lost baggage page.
