If you have an especially large piece of luggage, you can take it on a Virgin Atlantic flight for an additional fee, which is payable at the airport.
We classify oversized baggage as an item exceeding the size allowed within your free baggage allowance - 90 x 75 x 43cm (35.5 x 29.5 x 16ins).
Oversized baggage fees are currently GBP 40 for UK departures or USD 60 in US Dollars. For departures outside of the UK and US, the USD 60 fee will be converted to the local currency.
How big is too big?
The upper limit for oversized luggage is an ample 190 x 75 x 65cm (75 x 29.5 x 25.5in). If it’s bigger than that, you won’t be able to check it in as baggage – but our friends in Virgin Atlantic Cargo (opens in a new window) will be able to help you out.
Please note - The three dimensions of any piece of luggage must not exceed 330cm/130ins
