As most of our flights from Gatwick leave the South Terminal early in the morning, we offer twilight check in and bag drop, so you can avoid the airport queues and check in any luggage the night before.
From 25 January 2017, all Virgin Atlantic departures and arrivals will move from the South Terminal to the North Terminal at London Gatwick. Find out more about Gatwick Airport changes
We recommend you get to the airport with plenty of time to spare – it’s a good way to avoid last-minute stress! As a rule of thumb:
- Virgin Atlantic flights: arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight is due to leave.
- Partner airline flights: we recommend you check in three hours before your scheduled departure.
You can check in for your flight and pick up your boarding pass using any one of the following options.
The best way to check in is online, where you can pick your seat and print your boarding card. Just go to Manage your flights. If you’re travelling with carry on baggage only, you can print off your own boarding pass and we’ll see you at the gate.
You'll find our traditional check in experience in Zone A of the South Terminal.
Please ensure you have plenty of time for counter check in before your flight.
If your flight is in the early hours, consider dropping your bags off the night before. All passengers will need to be present for this option.
Twilight is available from 5pm - 9pm.
Please note there is no dedicated Premium Economy desk at twilight check in.
Our automated self service kiosks provide a speedy check in. You'll find them in our check in area, Zone A and are open between 05.30 and 22.30.
