Following hot on the heels of the airline’s new Economy and Upper Class meal changes, the emphasis is again on providing a meal that looks and tastes just like something you'd enjoy at your favourite brasserie on the ground.
The chinaware has a stylish new look, and as well as stainless steel cutlery, main meals are now served on linen with a linen napkin.
The famous salt and pepper shakers in the shape of miniature airplanes have also made a comeback due to popular demand. Originally in Upper Class, the condiments were replaced earlier in the year with a unique design inspired by a classic cocktail shaker and now Premium Economy will enjoy the iconic pots, famously inscribed with “pinched from Virgin Atlantic” to deter light fingered passengers.
A successful addition to the Economy cabin, the new cup for hot drinks will also feature in the Premium Economy cabin, so you can enjoy a bigger cuppa.
Virgin Atlantic was the first airline to launch the premium economy product in 1992 when it was named Mid Class. In 1994 it was rebranded as Premium Economy. With a 38” seat, priority boarding and dedicated check in, the Premium Economy offering is perfect for the cost-conscious business traveller or leisure travellers looking to splash out.
