Virgin Atlantic and Delta strengthen network

New 2017 summer services & co-location at London Heathrow Terminal 3 (T3)

Effective summer 2017, Virgin Atlantic will start flying between London Heathrow and Seattle, replacing the service currently operated by Delta. Delta will operate a second daily flight from Heathrow to Detroit, taking over the existing Virgin Atlantic service and operating it three times a week.

In addition, from 25 May 2017 and for the summer schedule only, Virgin Atlantic will operate the daily nonstop service between Manchester and New York-JFK, currently operated by Delta, while Delta will operate a third London Heathrow to Atlanta frequency, a service currently operated by Virgin Atlantic.

Also, we're pleased to be able to let you know that, from 14 September 2016, all Virgin Atlantic and Delta flights from London Heathrow will arrive and depart from Terminal 3 (T3).

Delta will transfer its Atlanta, Detroit, Minneapolis, Salt Lake City and Philadelphia flights from Terminal 4 to join its services to New York-JFK, Boston and Seattle that already operate from Terminal 3.

In total, Delta will operate 11 daily flights to eight US cities nonstop from Terminal 3. The two airlines' summer schedule includes up to 40 daily nonstop flights between North America and the UK, of which, 28 operate between London Heathrow and the US.

Try our new state of the art surround sound experience

We can now offer a 360 degree surround sound experience due to new state of the art audio encoding technology, which will enhance your movie experience when onboard.

The 3D sound experience through your headphones will accurately reproduce the effect of being surrounded by speakers. Using any pair of headphones, travellers can hear sounds moving from side to side, from front to back and up and down - and feel like the action is happening all around them.

The first two movies to feature this new technology will be Fast and Furious 7 and Bessie (Home Box Office).

NY-LON lounge bar. The pleasure of new connections.

Our partnership with Delta Air Lines® means that together we can offer travellers a more convenient, enjoyable way to fly between the UK and the US. And to celebrate our partnership in the UK, we’ve created a unique new lounge bar together at the O2, London.

This new space at the O2 is a celebration of our transatlantic teamwork. It’s a fantastic space to meet friends pre- and post-concert, pop by for an afternoon coffee or grab an after work bite to eat. And more than anything, it offers a taste of the innovation, style and incredible experience you can look forward to when you fly Virgin Atlantic or Delta.

What is NY-LON?
NY-LON is a lounge bar that's open to everyone from midday to midnight every day:

  • Enjoy a taste of the innovative, welcoming hospitality you enjoy when you fly with Virgin Atlantic or Delta.
  • Relax over a drink, signature cocktail or coffee with friends or colleagues.
  • Sample dishes inspired by London and New York: perfect for sharing.
  • Reserve a private destination booth in the VIP area in advance, or get in the mix at the main Turbine Bar and seating area: there’s no entry fee.
  • Book the Secret Meeting Room, which can you also hire as a private dining room. Perfect for a meeting pre-event, to get out of the office or for a celebration.
  • Hire the venue as a whole, or just the main Turbine Bar or VIP area.

Have you ever wanted to use Flying Co miles for an upgrade but our Premium Economy or Upper Class cabin was full?

Our new waitlist service is a brilliant tool to help track you down a seat if it becomes available. You can add your travellers to a waitlist when there are no seats available to upgrade using miles. Then, if a seat becomes available, our system automatically assigns it to the first person on the list and we contact the account administrator, to share the good news.

Another great service our dedicated Flying Co team have to offer.

To add your travellers names to the list call 0344 412 2415.

A new way to search for reward flights

If you’ve searched for reward flights recently you might have noticed how easy it has become.

From our Book Flights page you can search for your destination and choose the option to 'Spend miles’. You’ll then see search results which show all the days which have availability, which cabin is available, the number of miles you’ll need, and the applicable taxes, fees, charges and carrier imposed surcharges.

To book you'll need to log in to your Flying Co account or call the dedicated team.
