Your Virgin Atlantic American Express® Credit Card from MBNA and your Virgin Atlantic Visa Credit Card are contactless, which lets you pay for items of up to £20 without having to enter your PIN. It's all about making purchases as hassle-free as possible.

How you use it

Step 1

1. You've spotted the contactless symbol and your purchase is £20 or less, so tell the retailer you'd like like to pay with your contactless Virgin Atlantic Credit Card Account.

2. Hold your card against the terminal.

3. Wait a second or two until you see the green lights or hear a beep.

4. Off you go. And if you need a receipt, just ask for one.

Why would you use it?

It's fast - you simply hold your card close to the reader instead of fumbling in your pockets or purse for the right money, or waiting for your change.

It's secure - you're in control because your card never leaves your hand.

For added security you'll occasionally be asked to enter your PIN. And just like chip and PIN transactions, you won't be liable for any fraudulent contactless transactions made with your card*.

It's handy - like having the exact cash you need, when you need it.

*If your card is lost or stolen you'll incur no liability for fraudulent use of your card provided you notify us as soon as you realise your card is missing or you notice any unusual transactions on your account.

Where you can use it

Shops that let you use contactless payment will display this symbol. As it’s a new technology, it isn’t accepted everywhere but it’s becoming more and more common. So keep your eyes peeled for this symbol.
