Get your trip off to a relaxing start with our fast, friendly check in services at Heathrow's Terminal 3.
If you're connecting onto a Delta flight to Boston (BOS), Los Angeles (LAX), New York (JFK) or Newark (EWR), flights depart from Terminal 3. Delta's services to Atlanta (ATL), Detroit (DTW), Minneapolis (MSP), Philadelphia (PHL), or Seattle (SEA) operate out of Terminal 4.
When to arrive for your flight
We recommend you get to the airport with plenty of time to spare – it’s a good way to avoid last-minute stress! As a rule of thumb:
- Virgin Atlantic flights: arrive at the airport at least two hours before your flight is due to leave.
- Partner airline flights: we recommend you check in three hours before your scheduled departure.
We don't want to leave you behind
Please make sure you are through airport security at least 20 minutes before your scheduled departure time for domestic flights, and 30 minutes prior for international flights. After these times we won't be able to get you on the plane, so leave the dramatic airport dashes to the movies and arrive nice and early.
Check in options
You can check in for your flight and pick up your boarding pass using any of the following options.
Online check in
The best way to check in is online, where you can pick your seat and print your boarding card. Just go to Manage your flights. If you're travelling with carry on baggage only, you can print off your own boarding pass and we'll see you at the gate.
Kiosk check in
Our automated kiosks provide a speedy option for check in. You'll find them in Zone A Terminal 3 and they're open between 05.00 - 21.30. The bag drop desks are also located in Zone A, desks 1-34 and are open from 05.30 to 21.30.
Counter check in
Check in at desks 11-34 in Zone A of Terminal 3 - we have plenty of counters to keep any wait as short as possible. If you have an evening departure, beat the queues and check in when it's quietest between 15.00 and 17.00 - leaving you time to relax.
