We believe we stand out from the crowd, and for this reason we've transformed our livery - the look is a lot simpler and we really feel that our new appearance will catch the eye of our passengers and the public alike, whether we are in the sky or on the ground.
The new design will be applied across all 38 of the company's aircraft and all signage communications and advertising over the next two years.
Speaking at the launch of the new aircraft livery, Steve Ridgway, Chief Executive of Virgin Atlantic said:
"Virgin Atlantic has a strong history of investing during downturns and we believe that our new livery and the forthcoming delivery of the Airbus A330-300 signals another period of growth for the airline."
FEATURES OF THE NEW LIVERY
The Virgin Atlantic name, previously on the front end of the fuselage is now emblazoned across the whole of the aircraft in a fine custom drawn font. The undercarriage of the aircraft now features the new Virgin Atlantic logo in dark purple making the aircraft more easily identifiable when taking off and landing.
Other new features include:
Virgin script on the inner side of the aircraft winglets, visible to passengers onboard the plane
An entirely new paint system on the new livery which is unique to the airline specially developed to achieve a very reflective depth of metallic colour
Our iconic, flag-carrying, flying lady has now had a subtle makeover this time holding a larger Union Jack flag.
Over 450 litres of paint was used for the aircraft and took over 3,000 3,500 man hours to paint. The new paint is more durable so aircraft will only require re-painting once a decade.
