Next time you’re offered tea or coffee on one of our flights, you’ll be pleased to know that it’s only Fairtrade that we’re serving.

Fairtrade products are all about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. Last year we served nearly seven million cups of coffee and over five million cups of tea on our flights, so switching to Fairtrade will be a significant boost to these farmers.

What’s more, we’re pretty certain that Fairtrade coffee tastes even better. So following a series of blind tastings we’ll be offering a range of organic green and white teas, and fresh and instant coffees all sourced from several countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

This move is just part of our sustainable business approach, which includes a series of initiatives such as reducing the weight of our planes so less fuel is used, and introducing biofuels to our flights.
