Speaking from Chicago this morning, following the successful inaugural flight of Virgin Atlantic's latest daily service between London and Chicago, Sir Richard Branson announced a large order of new aircraft.

In an order worth up to US$8 billion Virgin Atlantic have ordered 15 new
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners with an option on a further 8 aircraft, delivery is scheduled between 2011 and 2014.
