For the second year in a row, Virgin Atlantic has taken the title of 'Best Premium Economy in the World' at Business Traveler's annual 'Best in Business Travel Awards.'
The results of the awards were based on survey feedback from 8,000 subscribers of the travel trade publication who were asked to choose their favorite airlines, hotels, airports and other travel-related services. Business travelers are the most discerning of our customers, who demand an experience that combines comfort, productivity and extraordinary service, so this award is a true testament to the rich value behind our Premium Economy product. In what seems to be our best ever year of winning awards, we've now got two new additions to our growing collection!
The winners of the 2009 OAG Airline Industry Awards were recently announced and Virgin Atlantic secured two prestigious titles: 'Best Airline Based in Western Europe', beating the likes of British Airways, Air France and Lufthansa; and 'Best Transatlantic Airline', outshining nearest rivals Continental and United Arlines. Now in its 27th anniversary year, the OAG Airline Industry Awards are hugely significant and valued in the airline industry because the awards are voted for by frequent flyers all over the world. Travel Weekly's annual Readers' Choice Awards are voted for by agents, industry executives and the CEOs of the world's largest travel companies, all who have a deep understanding of the business. We've also managed to attract a few appreciative pats on the back in the form of the massive independent Zagat survey.
We came 1st in the following categories: No.1 - International Airline for Inflight Entertainment No.1 - Best Frequent Flyer Program The results of the Zagat 2009 Airline Survey cover 16 domestic and 73 domestic airports, and canvasses the opinions of nearly 6,000 frequent fliers and travel professionals.
