As part of its 25th birthday celebrations, Virgin Atlantic launched 'Pitch TV'; where every month budding entrepreneurs get the opportunity to pitch their ideas to the audience onboard via the seatback TV. Since the launch hopefuls have been uploading their video pitches to http://entrepreneur.virgin.com/pitchtv/ in the hope that they would be one of the lucky five the community voted to be shown onboard to the thousands of business men and women who fly Virgin Atlantic.These videos will be shown in June the airline’s birthday month are:

  • Kids Are Heroes; Kids can make a difference in the world: A website devoted to children who have done exceptional things in their communities. A social entrepreneurship project which needs funding in order to spread the word and go global.
  • Ecousable - Echo 2, the world’s only filtered stainless steel water bottle: Designed to replace the throwaway plastic bottle culture. The bottle can filter up to 100 gallons of tap water, replacing 757 half litre plastic bottles of water. They are looking for $1million dollars to meet current demand and take the product global
  • Hanukkah Tree Topper, the very first six-pointed star topper on the market: A Jewish Star of David product, designed to go on to top of Christmas trees during the holiday season in order for inter faith failies to help celebrate each others culture. Looking for investment in the product.
  • ShareMeme, your intelligent outbox, ShareMeme simplifies online communication: Online application product which allows all contact platforms (phone, email, SMS, AIM, Twitter, Google Chat) to be routed to one place. Communicate with everyone effortlessly from one place, an intelligent outbox. Looking for investment in the idea.
  • Homestie, turn your unused space into cash with Homestie: A website dedicated to selling unused space (a wardrobe, a garage, a garden shed etc). Designed for people who don’t want to pay high prices for renting self-storage space. Looking for investment in the idea.
Proving Pitch TV’s popularity, Sir Richard Branson’s blog was inundated with fan messages as the initiative was announced and a record 10,605 page views were tallied up on day one and by the end of the first week, page views totalled 44,128. So get pitching!
