20 YEARS OF VIRGIN ATLANTIC FLIGHTS TO TOKYO
May 17th 1987 saw Virgin Atlantic's inaugural flight to Tokyo and we've been flying there ever since. Many of our passengers fly with us to do business in the glittering skyscrapers of Tokyo, others to immerse themselves in the bustling, ultra-techno culture of modern day Japan. 20 years is a long time in Tokyo technology terms, when we first started flying there CDs were the new way to listen to music.
Twenty years on and CDs are a little bit "last century" and downloading music is the only way to keep up with the latest bands. Fortunately some things don't change, Virgin Atlantic are still flying between London Heathrow and Narita Airport, Tokyo. The VS900 leaves Heathrow at lunchtime and arrives in Narita in the morning the next day (view schedules). The flight back, the VS901 leaves mid-morning and arrives back in the UK mid-afternoon the same day.
