Q How long are my miles valid for?
A
Your miles will not expire providing that your account remains active. To keep your account active, you need to continue to earn or redeem Flying Club miles, as each mileage transaction will ensure you a further 36 months of active Flying Club miles.

Q Can I claim miles after I have travelled or booked with a Virgin Atlantic Partner?
A
Yes, all you need to do is fill in the partner activity claim missing miles form, print it out and send it to the address shown at the bottom of the form. Please note: you have to be a logged in Flying Club member to view the partner claim missing miles form.


Q How far back can I claim miles?
A
Claims may be made up to 6 months following the date of your transaction.


Q Can I claim for transactions made on non-air partners, such as hotels?
A
Yes, don't forget to send us your original copies of receipts or tickets along with your claim missing miles form. The person who will earn the miles is the person who has paid for the hotel stay or car hire company. Please note: you have to be a logged in Flying Club member to view the claim missing miles form.


Q If I was upgraded by Virgin Atlantic at the time of travel, will I be awarded miles as per the upgrade or my original ticket?

You will be awarded miles as per your original ticket.

QHow can I upgrade using my miles?
A
You can upgrade a flight from any Virgin Atlantic destination worldwide (subject to availability) when purchasing a qualifying full adult fare.For more information on qualifying fares, please see flying club Terms and Conditions (clause 4.3.9)

Q Can I claim miles for any flights on which I travelled prior to joining flying club?A You are able to earn the miles and tier points for flights taken prior to joining the Flying Club. However all retrospective mileage credits must be claimed within six months of the qualifying transaction date.

Q Can I transfer my miles to another account?
A Yes, miles can be transferred across accounts for a fee. However a member may spend miles from another account where they are an authorised account user. There must always be sufficient miles in any account for a redemption of any kind, e.g. a one way reward. Since our one way redemptions are half price of a full redemption, members can book e.g. one sector from one account, and the return sector from another account. A Gold member can use miles from a Supplementary Silver account linked to their membership. Q What happens if my Virgin Atlantic flight was cancelled (or disrupted) and I was transferred to an airline which is not a flying club partner?
A
You will not be able to earn flying club miles - but may be eligible to earn miles on the other airline's frequent flyer programme that you are travelling on.

Q How long do I have to wait before my missing miles appear in my flying club account?
A
As a Flying Club member, you can claim missing miles with Virgin Atlantic as well as for qualifying activity with our airline partners, with our hotels, car rental and service partners up to six months from the date of activity. Miles will only be credited to your account after your flights or activity have been completed. Please allow 30 days for partner miles to be credited to your account. Your miles should appear in your account within 28 days of sending your claim missing miles form. Please note: you have to be a logged in Flying Club member to view the claim missing miles form.

Q Can I add miles to my account prior to travel?
A
No, miles may only be added upon travel being completed.

Q Can I add my friends flights/activity to my account?
A
No, miles may only be claimed for your own travel. As this is an individual programme, members may only claim miles for travel they have taken regardless of who has paid for the activity.
