RECRUITMENT

-

I'D LIKE TO BE CABIN CREW

If you think there's nothing more to being Cabin Crew than adding a touch of glamour, a sweet smile here and there and serving the odd cocktail, think again. It's physically demanding, mentally challenging and will test your considerable range of talents to the full. That said, if you're prepared to put in the effort, the rewards - personal and professional - are well worth it. Still interested? Then here’s what you need to know.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE CUSTOMER

Cabin crew with a Premium Economy passenger
We can’t stress this enough, the success of our business and the strength of our brand depends on us impressing, delighting, entertaining, pampering and indulging our customers. This means you’ll need to anticipate, as well as respond to, their needs professionally and proficiently.

When our customers are on board our planes, their comfort, safety and security are wholly your responsibility.

THE SMALL PRINT

The next thing you need to think about is our essential requirements. If you're interested in joining us, you'll need to be:

  • Minimum 5'2" in height (157.5cm)
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
  • Holder of an EU (EEA) passport
  • In good physical health
  • A confident swimmer
Because the job is so demanding, you'll be required to undergo a full medical with the company doctor before commencing your training. Keep in mind too that you'll be working weekends and Bank Holidays - including Christmas - so there'll be a definite impact on your social life. Finally, you'll be the face of the airline. As such, your grooming should always be immaculate - even after a long, tiring flight.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU

Cabin crew
If you meet our basic criteria, your preliminary group interview will last for an hour and a half, during which you'll take part in a series of exercises. Teamwork, customer relationships and attention to detail are the key competencies our experienced assessors will be on the look out for and the exercises have been tailored to the unique Virgin culture and sense of fun.

Following the group exercises, if you're successful, you'll then be asked to sit a series of tests which you must pass and attend an interview with two of our recruitment assessors. Here, you'll get the opportunity to tell us how good you really are and relate this back to your work history. We'll let you know if you were successful in writing as soon as possible afterwards.

THE REWARDS

Advert for cabin crew - Somnia Goddess of starry skies and splendid slumber
