FLYING WITH A BABY
Travelling with baby in tow can still be a fun, stress-free experience. We’re happy to welcome your little ones on board and we'll always ensure that they're safe and comfortable throughout the flight.
Wherever you're flying with baby, you'll find that our specially designed skycots will help them get off to sleep just like home; we'll heat up milk for you, as and when you need it; many of our toilets are fitted with changing facilities; and we do carry some spare baby items, such as bottles - though we would advise you to bring your own. And if it's just you travelling with baby, we'll make sure you get all the support you need. SKYCOT
The skycot (bassinet), is available to all new born babies up to approximately 12 months of age (depending on weight and height). After take-off, the cabin crew will install the skycot for you.
Some types of skycots can be used during turbulence, but most will require you to remove your child if the seatbelt signs are illuminated during flight. Please note, there are no skycot positions in the Upper Class cabin on 747-400 aircraft operating to/from Gatwick or Manchester. Infants under 12 months of age, less than 9kg in weight and less than 76cm in height will fit in all skycots. Other skycots, allowing for babies up to 11kg in weight, are available on selected aircraft types but cannot be guaranteed and are subject to change up to the day of departure. Please call our Contact Centre for availability and booking. WARMING BABY MILK
Baby milk can be heated onboard your Virgin Atlantic flight. Our dedicated cabin crew will heat the milk bottle for you. Just let them know when you need any assistance.
Please be assured that bottles will be heated cautiously, by warming in hot water and left to cool. Once cabin crew have tested the temperature of the milk and are satisfied, the milk bottle will be returned to you. |
