NEW MOBILE CHECK IN

Using your internet-enabled mobile phone you can now check-in for your Virgin Atlantic flight and select your seats wherever you are. All you need to do is type http://mobile.virginatlantic.com Opens in a new window into your mobile web browser between 24 hours and 2 hours before departure, click on 'check-in' and away you go. All flights worldwide are available for mobile check-in. To save you typing, if you have a UK registered mobile, you can also send a text message of M, MOB, or MOBILE (case insensitive) to shortcode 88787, which will cost you your normal text message tariff as charged by your phone provider. The system will respond with the mobile address as a text message which you can then click on and it will start up your phone browser which will go to the mobile site.

Once you have checked-in via your mobile and selected your seat you can:

  • Collect your paper boarding pass at the airport from a self-service kiosk or bag-drop desk
  • Access online check�in from a computer with a printer and print out a boarding pass or request that it is faxed to you in the normal way
Currently, payment for excess baggage cannot be made using Mobile Check In though this will be added later. For extra baggage, please call the contact centre if you have checked in using your mobile. However, if you check in online at a computer before your flight you will have the option to purchase extra baggage in advance.
