The new A380 aircraft
On 18 January 2005, Airbus revealed its A380 aircraft in Toulouse. The aircraft, which is set to change the face of travel, will enter into service with Virgin Atlantic in spring 2008. We have ordered six of the aircraft with options for a further six, and plan to operate the aircraft to New York (JFK), Hong Kong, Sydney, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Tokyo.

The A380 is the world's only twin deck, four aisle airliner with a 150 tonne weight capacity. That means it will hold over 500 passengers, but we've been wondering what else this amazing aircraft could carry. Send us your suggestions of what you'd like to see onboard and we'll publish the best ones on the Flying Co website. The overall winning entry will win £50 worth of Virgin Vouchers. Email your ideas to flyingcofeedback@fly.virgin.com by Friday 18 March 2005. Don't forget to include your name and Flying Co membership number and address.

Sir Richard Branson stated, "It is a proud moment for Airbus to unveil the first A380, a momentous day in aviation's history and an exciting opportunity to create new ways of flying for our passengers. Virgin Atlantic's A380s are going to be bigger and better than any aircraft which has preceded them with bigger and better cabins for all our passengers."
