We love flying and you love travelling, so, at Virgin Atlantic, we’re taking practical steps to make our business as sustainable as possible to make sure we minimise our impact on the planet. Here are some of our highlights to date:
In 2006 Sir Richard Branson committed his share of profits from his travel firms, such as Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Trains, over the next 10 years, to projects that combat climate change.
In September 2008, Virgin Atlantic became a founder member of the Sustainable Aviation Fuels Users Group. The groups' objective is to champion the development of biofuels that meet a strict set of sustainability criteria.
In 2009, Virgin Atlantic became a founder member of the Aviation Global Deal (AGD) Group, who are committed to aviation playing its part in global CO2 emissions targets to be agreed by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen this year.
Each week we'll be telling you about a magic Virgin Atlantic moment from our 25 years in the skies. If you have a story to tell about how Virgin Atlantic has changed your life for the better and you don't mind us sharing it with everyone else on this website, let us know.
