VIRGIN ATLANTIC'S 25TH BIRTHDAY FLIGHT

So what went on when Virgin Atlantic celebrated its 25th Birthday? Before "Birthday Girl" one of our 747-400s departed for New York, Sir Richard Branson was joined on the wing by super-model icon, Kate Moss.

Onboard the 25th birthday flight was a host of VIPs including Vivienne Westwood, international cricketer Kevin Pietersen and his wife, former Liberty X singer Jessica, as well as Ian Botham and Christopher Biggins, who was a passenger on the very first Virgin Atlantic flight 25 years ago.

Also onboard 25 years ago was Chris Morely. He’s been with Virgin Atlantic for 25 years and operated the first flight. On the 25th birthday flight he was the Flight Service Manager leading a team of 18 Cabin Crew.

The flight service is a bit of a throw-back to the 1980’s, with food and music from the decade that fashion would rather nobody mentioned in public. The inflight entertainment also included "Airplane!" which was famously shown onboard Virgin Atlantic’s first ever flight.

Not to be outdone, Virgin Atlantic staff at Head Office also got into the spirit by dressing up for the day. Look-a-likes of Mr T, Slash and the Village People all made walking around the office a constant surprise.
