CABIN SERVICE SUPERVISOR'S MAGIC MOMENT
Having worked for Virgin Atlantic for over 13 years i've accumulated a number of magic moments but the best so far has to be a recent trip to Tokyo where we celebrated 20 Years of flying to the Japanese capital. We had Richard Branson on-board which is always great fun to both the passengers and crew, as well as his mum - Eve Branson who is an absolute dear and has the energy of a 21 year old!
On this occasion Richard went through the cabin and greeted all the passengers. It was wonderful to see their faces as he went through the aircraft as they were shocked yet so happy to get such such personal treatment. Upon arrival at Narita, following the arrival announcement - he then said 'Hi It's Richard, have a great time in Tokyo and thanks for flying with us' which met rapturous applause.
Virgin Atlantic Tokyo celebrated the 20th anniversary with a great party in Gaienmae for around 500 people. As we were the inbound crew, we were lucky to be invited and with everyone 'wearing a touch of red' it was a truly Virgin affair. The party featured a casino as well as a swimming pool which had been drained and covered in red material with black tables in the middle to stand and eat in which was surreal but brilliant. There were some great people and the BBC World Service team interviewed both Eve and Richard. The party was stunning and the crew retired gracefully at 10pm, despite the 12 hour flight and long journey this trip was definitely worth making.
