MELBOURNE, BRAWN GP AND VIRGIN

Sir Richard Branson again showed he had the magic touch with his very timely sponsorship of the Brawn GP Formula 1 team. At the opening race of the season in Melbourne, Australia, the Brawn GP team took pole and second position in qualifying and then Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello raced to a 1-2 finish, the first time a Formula 1 team has done that on debut since 1954.

Sir Richard Branson who watched the race from the pit lane said on his blog (http://entrepreneur.virgin.com/index.php)

"The atmosphere was truly electric! Thousands and thousands of people chanting We love Virgin’ as the team came down the track.

A truly amazing debut for Brawn GP and the Virgin Group in Formula One and 36 hours I won’t forget in a hurry."

The next race is in Malaysia, lets hope the Brawn supremacy continues!
