RECRUITMENT

I'D LIKE TO BE A PASSENGER SERVICE AGENT

Cheeky monkey advertisement for passenger service agents
From meeting and greeting customers to getting them on board, you'll be focused on giving them the very best experience possible. You'll need to be able to respond to any given situation. And in an airport environment, this could mean literally anything. Quick thinking, attention to detail and a friendly, outgoing personality are therefore the order of the day.

You'll also be dealing with people from all over the world - different cultures, different languages. So the ability to behave tactfully and to make yourself understood easily is also a must. If you have a foreign language, so much the better.

The journey starts with you, make it one to remember.

THE SMALL PRINT

The next thing you need to think about is our essential requirements. If you're interested in joining us, you'll need to be/have:

  • Previous proven customer service experience
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK
  • In good physical health
Because the job is so demanding, you'll be required to undergo a full medical with the company doctor before commencing your training. Keep in mind too that you'll be working weekends and Bank Holidays - including Christmas - so there-ll be a definite impact on your social life.

GETTING TO KNOW YOU

If you meet our basic criteria, your preliminary group interview will last for an hour and a half, during which you'll take part in a series of exercises. Teamwork, customer relationships and attention to detail are the key competencies our experienced assessors will be on the look out for and the exercises have been tailored to the unique Virgin culture and sense of fun.

Following the group exercises, if you're successful, you’ll then be asked to sit a series of tests which you must pass and attend an interview with two of our recruitment assessors. Here, you'll get the opportunity to tell us how good you really are and relate this back to your work history. We'll let you know if you were successful in writing as soon as possible afterwards.

THE REWARDS

As well as a generous starting salary, you can also look forward to a good shift allowance and, if you meet our relevant criteria, you can also look forward to other benefits which include one of the best concessionary travel schemes in the industry - up to seven free flights a year - as well as private medical insurance and pension schemes. You can find out more details about what's on offer under 'Enjoy the High Life'.

We'll invest in your training too. Initially, this will encompass Virgin customer care, product knowledge and training in the technical expertise required to check in passengers. Ongoing individual training plans are designed to develop your skills continually during your career with us.
