READ THE GUIDE & BOOK CHEAP FLIGHTS TO GHANA

First timers

Take a cheap flight to Ghana with us and you’ll be within easy reach of some of West Africa’s best beaches and funkiest nightlife. There are also moving historical insights in the old slave trading forts on the coast as well as large expanses of preserved natural habitats offering sightings of elephants, turtles and a host of rare birds. Make sure to save some energy for exploring Accra, Ghana’s hot, happening capital with its buzzing bar life, interesting museums and crazy traffic.

Frequent Flyers

Popular beaches like Labadi can get very busy. The best bet for beachy relaxation is to stay at smaller resorts on less-visited beaches like Busua and Dixcove, Abuesi and Beyin. The Volta region offers eco-tourism experiences aplenty including the Wli falls, West Africa’s highest waterfall and marine turtle hatcheries on the coast. If you’ve a head for heights, go for a canopy walk above the jungle in the Kakum National Park. The Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Fort museums offer sobering and moving monuments to the awfulness of the slave trade.

Shops

Our cheap flights to Ghana mean you’ll have more cash left to spend on souvenirs. Shop for clothes made from unique Kente cloth and other traditional handicrafts at the Centre for National Culture’s crafts bazaar in Accra. The Tetteh Quarshie Art Market in Accra also has lots of interesting carvings, jewellery and paintings on sale but be prepared to haggle! You can buy handicrafts direct from their makers if you head inland to the tribal villages close to Kumasi, the former capital of the Ashanti kingdom.

Nights

Even if your flight to Ghana is just for business, make time to do a little socialising Accra-style! Nightlife ranges from sophisticated clubbing to street-corner beer bars. Most visitors head for the the Osu district, the main tourist area. Here you’ll find everything from Irish bars to live music joints playing Ghana’s uniquely African-style of jazz. There’s a great range of restaurants too. Sample groundnut soup, kenkey (a kind of sourdough dumpling) with fried fish and hot pepper sauce, washed down with local maize beer.
